Caring About the Little Things
Presently Dr. Kilby lives on family farm in Rappahannock with his wife and two labs. In addition to raising beef cattle, loves to garden and fish for fun.
After graduating from Rappahannock County High School, attended the University of Richmond graduating with a BS in Chemistry. After college attended Medical College of Virginia graduating with a Medical degree. Internship and Residency Training at Emory University in Atlanta Georgia and US Army at William Beaumont Hospital in El Paso Texas. Before starting practice in Culpeper he was in the Army for two years at Fort Belvoir in General Pediatrics. Was Chief of Pediatric Clinics in last year at Fort Belvoir. Has practiced in Culpeper for over 40 years.
2012 and 2014 Award Recipient of the Culpeper Star Exponent's Best of Culpeper.
Charles Stein MD has lived and practiced pediatrics in Culpeper since 1983. He lives with his wife, Beth, their two children, Anna and Emma, and their 3 dogs.
Dr. Stein was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio. He attended college at Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia. He graduated with a B.S. in Biology, magna cum laude, and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He graduated from medical school at the University of Virginia. He completed a 3 year residency in pediatrics at East Carolina University in Greenville, NC..
Following residency, he moved to Culpeper where he opened a solo pediatric medical practice. He has been on the staff of UVa Culpeper Hospital since 1983. He served as President of the Medical Staff in 2000 and 2001. He has chaired the Credentials Committee for the medical staff for many years. He was voted CRH Physician of the Year in 2007. He continues to enjoy admitting privileges at Culpeper Hospital.
He has special interests in the treatment of asthma, ADHD, behavioral issues in children, and in newborn health care.
In his personal life, Dr. Stein relishes spending time with his family and friends. He has enjoyed coaching soccer for 11 recent seasons. He also enjoys skiing, hiking, and trying new things.
Dr. Stein is extremely thankful for the opportunity to provide medical care for the children of Culpeper and neighboring areas. He recognizes the special bond in pediatrics between parents, their children, and pediatricians. He is particularly grateful for the trust and confidence which parents and their children have placed in his medical care over the last 31 years.
